Foregoing tradition, Mai and Mark awoke together on the morning of November 3 knowing their dreams had come true. Prior to the wedding, Mai collaborated with friend and bridesmaid Naomi Newirth of Acacia Swimwear to create custom kimonos for the ladies to wear during hair and makeup before the ceremony.

Mai was a vision in a decadent tulle and lace Monique Lhuillier gown adorned with ornate Afghan Kuchi tribal anklets.

Mai thoughtfully designed custom Aila Blue gowns for each of her bridesmaids honoring the pretty hues found throughout the décor, all of which became a part of her “Splendour in the Sand” collection. The individual looks were effortless when paired with jewelry by designer and friend Anna Beck.

Balinese florists from Denpasar delivered bouquets of stargazer lilies, roses, orchids, Dusty Miller, hydrangea, torch ginger and tuberose for the bridal party. The tropical buoquets were as fragrant as they were vibrant.

Friends and family began to pour in from all over the world to celebrate the momentous occasion. The cliffside ceremony was marked by an arch of intricately carved wood and stained glass that the couple found at a vintage shop in Kerobokan, which was hung with delicate garlands of origami cranes.
