Hawaii-based photographers Caleb and Cece of Zephyr & Tide had originally planned to photograph the unique land formations of Vik, Iceland. Due to a storm, they were deterred back to their home of Hawaii's Big Island. After their homecoming, the couple began to recognize striking similarities between the stunning landscapes of the Big Island and Iceland. So they decided to style a shoot on one of the beautiful black sand beaches to represent the connection that the Big Island of Hawaii and Iceland share.
The natural elements of wind, sand, and sea were embraced to set a dramatic tone for this moody scene. Soft sunlight and coarse textures beautifully balanced the simplicity of pure white linen and clear glass. A bohemian two-piece gown paired with bare feet and billowing pampas grass complete the timeless aesthetic.
