Wedding Locations on Oahu

Built in 1936 on the southeastern coastline, The Bayer Estate is our hands-down winner for the most intimate seaside location on the island of O‘ahu. The charming French farmhouse design retains the characteristics of an old Hawaiian plantation home. An expansive lawn behind the house is scattered with a dozen tall coconut trees and a bamboo arch overlooking the ocean, the perfect natural altar for a wedding. Perhaps the most charming thing about this special place, is owner Sooz Mirikitani, a consummate hostess with a passion for entertaining. (808) 377-9359

The oceanside Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa is the resort that has it all: lush tropical gardens, cascading waterfalls, exotic wildlife, twenty-one restaurants and lounges, and world-renown banquet facilities. If you love shopping and he wants to surf, this is the spot. Waikiki has become a shopping mecca and you'll find surfers galore on the world famous beach. If you want to be married in a church, the resort's Ocean Crystal Chapel offers panoramic views and seats up to 70 guests. (808) 922-4130

For a cultural Hawaiian experience, we chose Paradise Cove as the top site. The famous authentic luau feast is a unique way to celebrate your rehearsal dinner and the property offers a few private oceanfront locations for a reasonable fee. Paradise Gardens, a beautiful private lawn area at the edge of the beach, is ideal for a grand tent reception under the stars. Host an intimate wedding on Hukilau Beach or the Point, as well as a larger reception (up to 1500) in Paradise Gardens. (808) 842-5911

Known as a home away from home for past presidents and dignitaries, the newly renovated Kahala Hotel and Resort has maintained a reputation for unrivaled service, and it is our pick for the most scenic beach and resort in Oahu. The beach fronting the resort is far less crowded than Waikiki, and the stunning backdrop of Diamond Head and Koko Head makes this one of the most breathtaking spots in Hawaii. The rooms are well appointed with large bath suites, and we like the fact that guests don't have to walk for miles to get from the pool back to their rooms. Did we mention the beautiful new spa and the resident dolphins that live in a lagoon on property? (808) 739-8715

The Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki is our selection for the best urban setting, with a friendly staff and a gracious spirit of aloha. All oceanfront accommodations guarantee a fantastic view of the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor, Ala Moana Beach Park and the Ko‘olau and Waianae mountain ranges. At the gateway of Waikiki, this hotel is not located beachfront, but the harbor views are quite romantic and within walking distance of great shopping and restaurants. (808) 956-1111
