Brett and Brenton's wedding was a homecoming of sorts. The Toronto-based couple wanted to show off the beauty of Victoria, BC, to their closest friends and family, most of whom had never ventured to the west coast before. After all, it was the place where their love first began. "When we thought about what we really wanted when we started planning our wedding from a distance, it made sense to us to get married where we had met so many years before. We both agreed that Victoria is a place that makes us both feel at ease and comfortable, which is really what we wanted the whole day to feel like (not only for us but for our family and friends, as well)."

Getting married overlooking the ocean was the easiest decision they made. The bride tells us, "We wanted our wedding to feel romantic, but also individual to us and the west coast which we love. Our vendors completely brought our vision to life. The long distance process was daunting at times and we definitely had a few mishaps along the way (including a dress change two weeks before the big day and a missing officiant at the rehearsal!), but in the end, it was better than we ever expected. It was just as much a surprise to us as anyone else when we arrived to the venue and saw the pure beauty of it all!"

Brett was stunning in a blush Truvelle wedding dress paired with a Jennifer Behr headpiece. Brenton wore a suit by Indochino with a Brooks Brothers tie for a classic look. The bride says, "Walking down the aisle towards Brenton was surreal. I had thought about it for so long and it felt like everything had finally come full circle from when we were teenagers, to penpals and now husband and wife. It was the perfect day to start our lives together, and a great welcome home to BC. I wish I could do it all again!"

Vanessa of Verbena Floral Design created loose, whimsical bouquets in ivory and blush tones with beautiful silk ribbons for the bridal party.
