Emily, a wedding planner from Arizona, Matt met in high school. "Matt was actually my date to the homecoming dance my freshman year of high school," she says. Seven years later, Matt proposed on Christmas Eve. "We knew right away that we wanted our wedding to be on Maui-- we vacationed there several times and wanted to share our love for the island with our guests. Olowalu Plantation House was the first and only venue we visited. Everything about the plantation-- from the towering trees to the creak in the wooden floors-- gave us that "Old Hawaii" feel that we love so much. We wanted the wedding to be comfortable and fun, like a backyard party but with Maui's breathtaking scenery."
The couple's vision for the day was "casual, tropical elegance". The bride says, "I love mercury glass and wanted to use those vessels with pops of color to contrast the green landscape."
