Don't get us wrong, we think flower girls and a traditional ring bearer are adorable in a wedding, but it's the puppy that's getting all the love this year. More and more couples are including their beloved dogs in their wedding celebrations in a big way, from dressing them in a bowtie to match the groomsmen to positioning them "just so" in the family portrait, and even dedicating décor elements to their pet's special breed.
At Meghan and Matt Goldman's wedding at the Willow Creek Olive Ranch along California's central coast, the couple's French Bull dog Nelson not only ushered in the ring during the ceremony, his black and white portrait adorned the escort cards and letterpress tags on the "sweet send-off" gift bags. We particularly love Nelson's preppy plaid leash. You can view all of the fun, one-of-a-kind details on Allyson Magda's blog.
For Jennifer and Brett's summer wedding in the gardens at Rose Story Farm in California, the groom insisted that his Weimaraner dog Gunnar be part of the wedding party and to accommodate the request, the mother-of-the-bride sewed a special tie for him. We think he looked just as debonair as his owner! Check out their beautiful story, Coming Up Roses, photographed by Jose Villa.
Sweethearts Ellen and Caro took a more formal approach when they opted to have their poodle sit alongside of them for the wedding portrait. Doning a pale yellow tie and a matching ring pillow gently placed in his mouth, this pooch made an unforgettable entrance. Photography by Next Exit Photography.

great post!
This is great - so often dogs are a really big part of ones life, I think it's only appropriate when they are incorporated in the wedding, it makes the celebration just that much more personal!
our kids!
we do all love our kid-pets! those for your story are very cute, but everyone looks almost too perfectly coiffed.
for us, having the dogs in the ceremony was a requirement, & definitely helped narrow down where the wedding location could even be!
so here's an action snap of our 2 lovable mutts, replete with their own matching haku lei's, and dragging my nephews behind them.
