Most often associated with the ’50s and ’60s, the Marimekko brand remains one of Finland’s most enduring designs. Since I have long adored this fabulous print, I seized the opportunity to style a Marimekko shoot for our summer Fashion Issue. Lensman Frank Amodo met us at The Waikiki Edition, the perfect modern backdrop for the set up. Floral designer Yvonne Chapman mimicked Isola’s oversized flower print in simple Ikea teardrop vases of brilliant red Oriental poppies, and Carmen Emerson-Bass designed two of her famed couture cupcakes to suit the theme. I’ll be posting our inspiration board for the shoot soon. xo ~robyn
