I combed through the Pacific Weddings archives this morning to share this fabulous chandelier wedding cake originally featured in a story at the Kahala Resort in Honolulu, Hawaii. I’ve had the privilege of working with some truly extraordinary women over the years, and Carmen Emerson-Bass is certainly at the top of the list when it comes to creative talent. She has been become quite dear to me, not just because she happens to be one of the most talented cake designers on the planet, but also because I like to claim her as my long-lost twin separated at birth. I know—this is presumptuous—but we have been known to show up at a photo shoot bearing identical table linens without ever having spoken about it. She just gets it, you know?

Carmen never ceases to amaze me with her intricate handiwork and remarkable creativity. Her company name, Cake Couture, is certainly an apt representation of the flawless details of each and every cake she designs. Today, I am sharing a cake she created for an older issue of Pacific Weddings. You know a design is truly classic when it stands the test of time. Click away for more beautiful wedding cake ideas. If you are curious as to what Carmen has been cooking up lately, she is presently the reigning “Queen of Cupcakes” in Hawaii. I have often forgone dinner to indulge in one (or two!) of her delicious vanilla cupcakes! xo ~robyn
