Hope everyone had a lovely holiday weekend! It’s no secret that we adore all things Kate Spade. Her bold splashes of color, clean lines, modish prints and cheeky personality inspire us in so many ways. Well, former Kate Spade creative director, Julia Leach, launched her own apparel line Chance with the catch phrase “a line you discover by chance” and we’re smitten. She was simply inspired by a red and white t-shirt she found in a shop in Paris. Her collection is timeless, iconic and classic American: the perfect striped shirt, the simplicity of a cotton tee, the cool chambray button-up. Julie says, “The striped t-shirt is the paperclip of personal style.”

We especially like Julie’s four cornerstones of creative philosophy: design, simplicity, personal style and adventure. She perfectly captures that effortless Parisian chic blended with the East Coast beach lifestyle in her online musings, Discoveries.

Pictured here are outtakes from the Chance trunk show captured by Thayer Allyson Gowdy in San Francisco, California. They announced their West Coast debut with friends, antique cars and a signature spirit—the pomegranate fizz. We thought it the perfect summer send-off to inspire a party with friends or an engagement session with splashes of red, white and blue!

I’m with you: I love every single one of these images. I can’t decide though if it’s a better summer send-off or would make a better spring welcoming of summer. The car picture especially… makes me almost sad that summer is over!
