Happy Aloha Friday! This setting was photographed at one of my favorite spots on earth, my friend Carolee’s beach house. I have so many fond memories of this special place: my brother’s wedding, my daughter’s first baby luau and hundreds of weekends spent lounging in one of the beach chairs with the ocean at our feet.

The White Orchid Beach House has the nostalgic romance of Old Hawaii. Secluded by old lava rock walls and literally steps away from the ocean, I couldn’t think of a more idyllic spot for an intimate wedding. As a top designer on Maui, Carolee Higashino of White Orchid Wedding is the go-to girl for celebrity weddings and events and a longtime contributor to the magazine.
