We won’t reach all the way back into the wedding dress archives on this one {pre-Vera}. We’ll simply note that J.Crew and BHLDN introduced the idea {in perfectly-presented, catalog form} that a wedding dress need not be frilly, opulent and covered in sequins and tulle to be beautiful. Designer Whitney Deal shares in this refreshingly simple and fresh aesthetic with her debut Fall 2011 Collection specializing in both wedding and bridesmaids dresses. Simplicity reigns with lace trimmings and pretty ribbons.
Whitney studied at Parsons The New School for Design and the Savannah College of Art and Design. She calls North Carolina home with her photographer husband {check out their work over on Oh, Darling!}. We have been following the designer’s musings on her blog Darling Dexter over the years and are so excited to see her latest creative project.
Our favorites? The Ruby skirt paired with the Glea blouse and the rather demure Lucille dress. Congratulations on a lovely bridal line, Whitney! xox Shaunna
