Every fall, the bridal market sweeps through NYC leaving bundles of tulle, florals and lace in its wake. We are in awe of the collections this season— from Vera Wang’s avant garde chosen palette of nude and black to Marchesa’s larger-than-life skirting and utterly feminine shapes. Here, our favorites straight from the runway.

Vera Wang Fall 2012 It would take a rather daring bride to don black on her wedding day. With show notes that read “witchcraft”, Vera strayed far from convention this time around. First came the nude siren gowns to ease the crowd into it, followed by a dramatic onset of black. Photography By John Aquino

Marchesa Fall 2012 Draped tulle and embroidery reigned at the Marchesa show. “We wanted everything to be like an ethereal underwater fantasy,” said Georgina Chapman at her fall 2012 bridal presentation.

Monique Lhuillier Fall 2012 For her fall collection, Monique Lhuillier said she thought of an “ethereal, dreamy, frothy and romantic” bride. We expected delicate laces, layers of tulle and flowy chiffons and we saw just that. Really gorgeous! Photography by John Aquino

Reem Acra Fall 2012 We now know to expect a theatrical display from Reem Acra. In her show notes, Reem pointed out that her fall 2012 gowns “combine sheer layers and textures that lend an air of lightness.” Wonderfully romantic floral appliqués graced the striking silhouettes. We loved all 27 dresses in the collection! photography by John Aquino
