Robyn I’aea founded Pacific Weddings® magazine in 1999, when the term “destination wedding” was just beginning to surface in the wedding world. Her idea to share the intrinsic natural beauty of the Hawaiian Islands came up in a conversation among three close friends at a beach house. Since that time she has collaborated with the most talented photographers, floral designers and accomplished chefs to conceive of fresh editorial ideas that convey a timeless sense of style.

Just one month after moving to Maui as part of the opening team of the Four Seasons Resort Wailea, Robyn fell in love with a Hawaiian boy named Halii, and they now share their lives with three hapa kids and a Jack Russell terrier.

Her life is centered on faith, family and a beautiful circle of friends. A self-described design seeker, she spends countless hours regularly perusing stacks of magazines and reading design and fashion books to guide her position as Pacific Weddings’ editorial director. She has a penchant for hand crafted journals, fine paper and typography, and she admits to a weakness for delicious confections of all kinds. Things she wouldn’t want to live without: her bible, Marc Aurel’s double Americano, the sound of her children’s belly laughs, horses, her collection of pea coats and a library of well worn books. A blissful day would include the beach, her husband and kids and a bit of furniture shopping.

As Editorial Director of Pacific Weddings®, Robyn oversees idea conceptualization, editorial content and the overall style direction of the magazine. At the same time, she leads a team of talented designers who contribute to the magazine’s creative aesthetic. She has produced, authored and styled editorial stories on every conceivable wedding topic, including décor, cakes, favors, stationery, fashion and flowers. Robyn delights in the opportunity to design and execute exquisite weddings, parties and special events.
