Indulge your guests with an all white candy buffet where they can sample sweets and later take home their favorites packaged in a glassine envelope or a pretty monogrammed box. Wedding favors have become an important expression of a couple's style in the landscape of the modern reception, and now more than ever brides have so many wonderful creative options to honor their guests. In this feature we composed a delectable array of confections enveloped in luxurious white chocolate and sugary flavors.
Hawaii is well known for growing macadamia nuts, and Big Island Candies is arguably the finest chocolatier in the islands. Delight your guests with their rich macadamia nuts smothered in fine white chocolate. The company also designs beautiful custom packaging for individual presentation. Be forewarned, Big Island Candies can be highly addictive!
Chef Michelle Nakaya of Ginniberries Catering created the pillowy meringue cookies pictured left. Buttercream icing and white rock candy crown the snowy confections, presented atop a layer of almond paste beads.
Packaging can become as much a part of a gift as the sweet tucked inside. Shiny paper parcels cleverly held together with an ivory ribbon keep with the all white theme. Filled with monogrammed petit fours, these elegant favors add a personal touch to an event.
Honolulu cake designer Carmen Emerson-Bass is one of the rare artists whose creations taste as good as they look. She recently launched a fabulous line of cupcakes appropriately named, Cupcake Couture. From red velvet to peanut butter, her cupcakes are always in good taste. Pictured are vanilla cupcakes topped with striking black pastillage medallions that Carmen created by hand.
Belgin chocolatier Godiva and New York cake designer Sylvia Weinstock combined forces to create a memorable wedding favor. Each elegant confection is inspired by one of Sylvia's multi-tiered cakes, a beautiful and delectable gift for your guest. The milky white chocolates are filled with hazelnut praline, each wrapped in a sophisticated box, which, upon removal of the lid, releases a flap for unimpeded access.
