Porsha Revesz and David Viger III's love of the ocean and outdoor adventure made Hawaii a natural choice to host their destination wedding. The Four Seasons Resort Maui fulfilled their wish for an elegant island setting. “We had the most amazing backdrop for an intimate wedding,” Porsha says. Guests traveled from all over the world to attend the lovely event, infused with the romantic élan of the attractive couple. Welcome gifts containing fun island treats and a lively itinerary were placed in each guest room upon arrival. “We think the squirt guns were the biggest hit!” laughs the bride. The evening before the wedding, an intimate rehearsal dinner was held in a private dining room at Sarento’s On The Beach. “It allowed us the privacy we needed to enjoy the company of our family and close friends who made the trip out to celebrate our special day,” Porsha says.
The day of the ceremony arrived and while the groomsmen took to the green for a round of golf, the ladies had a very different idea of enjoyment. “My mother and my maid of honor, Pam Boulden, joined me in the spa and we relaxed all morning!” Porsha says. In the afternoon light, celebrants gathered on the lawn overlooking the white stretch of sand on Wailea Beach. A petal-strewn aisle of roses led to a wooden altar adorned with clusters of fragrant roses and hydrangea. The pristine views of the oceanfront locale provided a picture perfect setting for their nuptials. “We let the beauty of Maui speak for itself,” Porsha says. Blush pink was the chosen hue of the day—the bride’s absolute favorite color.
Porsha was a gorgeous bride in an ivory strapless Alfred Sung gown with a delicate veil gracing her wavy hair. She carried a tight bundle of ivory and pale pink roses. David had never looked so debonair in a tan Calvin Klein suit and maile lei entwined with dendrobium orchids. Just as the traditional wedding march began to play, a mist of rain began to fall. “No matter how much control you think you have in planning the perfect wedding, there is nothing you can do to control Mother Nature!” Porsha says. Once she and David pledged their love, the clouds cleared and a stunning array of colors lit up the sky.
As the sun began to disappear into the Pacific Ocean, guests gathered in the Four Seasons Ballroom Foyer for cocktails and pupu (Hawaiian appetizers). A graceful hula dancer performed while contemporary Hawaiian musician, Harris Moku, played sweet love songs. “We both agreed that one of our best decisions was including Moku,” Dave says. “He gave us an authentic island experience.” Understated elegance prevailed in the dining room aglow with soft candlelight. A decadent feast of seared filet mignon and baked Keahole lobster tail was served to the delight of the guests. The elated newlyweds took to the floor for their first dance, setting the tone for an evening of fun.
It was a magical night that no one wanted to end, especially Porsha and David. The groom remarks, “Maui is the most romantic and perfect place to wed. We look forward to returning in the years to come to celebrate our anniversaries!”
